The God of War game is set many years after the events of the previous games in the series. The story follows an older Kratos, who has moved on from his god-killing ways and now lives in the wilderness with his son Atreus. When Kratos' wife is killed, he and Atreus are forced to embark on a journey to spread her ashes from the highest peak in the realms.
The gameplay in God of War features a mix of combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. Kratos wields a magical axe that allows him to take down enemies with ease, while also using his surroundings to his advantage. The game's combat system is based on timing and positioning, requiring players to use the environment to execute complex attacks.
