Yu-No: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World is a Japanese-style adventure game and visual novel that tells the story of Takuya Arima, a young student whose father, a famous historian and teacher, mysteriously disappears. He later receives a parcel from his father containing a Reflector device, which allows him to travel to parallel worlds.
The player takes on the role of Takuya as he explores different alternative realities, using the A.D.M.S. (Auto Diverge Mapping System) to visualize the branches formed by his decisions and understand new possibilities. This system helps the player navigate the story and make choices that affect the outcome.
Yu-No: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World was originally released in 1996 for the NEC PC-98, but a remake was produced for the Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita in 2017. The game features completely redrawn HD graphics and rearranged music, while maintaining the same story and game structure. A Nintendo Switch port was also released in 2019, including these new features.
The game contains some adult themes, such as incest, but with a reduced level of explicit content compared to the original PC-98 version. Adult innuendo is still present, but the game is not suitable for all audiences due to its mature content.
