Wario Land II is a platformer game where you play as the titular character, Wario, who seeks revenge on himself after he stole his treasure in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 . Special agents from the Black Sugar Gang of Kitchen Island sneak into Wario's castle to steal back the treasure and leave a mess behind. As Wario, you must clean up the place and take back what you now call your own.
The gameplay in Wario Land II is unique compared to other platformers. Instead of dying when hit by an enemy, Wario loses coins he collected along his travels in each level. He can also transform into other types of Warios, such as Fire Wario or Zombie Wario, which have their own advantages and disadvantages. For example, transforming into a giant ball of air after being hit by a bee allows you to float up to the top of the level.
Wario Land II was released on the GameBoy in 1998.
