Windjammers , a game inspired by Saucer Tennis, pits two players against each other in an arena with a low net. The objective is to throw a disc into the opponent's goal or catch a disc that is out of reach. Players can use quarter-circle movements to add spin to their throws and slide to catch difficult discs.
The game features six unique characters, each with their own strengths and court preferences. A single match consists of short sets, typically 30 seconds in the international version and 45 seconds in the Japanese version. The first player to win two sets or engage in a sudden-death round wins.
Signature moves are available, which can be charged by blocking, tossing, or lobbing the disc while it's in the air. These moves can be countered, sometimes resulting in an opponent being knocked into their own goal.
Between levels, players can participate in two mini-games: playing fetch with a dog and Flying Disc Bowling.
