Need For Speed: ProStreet , the 11th installment in the NFS series , offers a new type of gameplay beyond its improved graphics. Unlike previous titles such as Underground 2, Most Wanted, and Carbon, it introduces an Event Map similar to Juiced's Event Calendar.
The game's main objective is for the player to become the "King of the street", a goal that has been present in previous titles. However, ProStreet departs from its predecessors by eliminating illegal races and focusing on sponsored events instead, taking place on various racing tracks without traffic or urban driving.
Players can engage with two gameplay modes: Career, where they start as a lowlife race driver and strive to conquer the competition over time, and free play, which allows them to race unlocked cars and tracks without any restrictions.
The game also features a jukebox, providing access to singles for its soundtrack. New car models and classic racing modes, excluding cop chases, are present in ProStreet. Upon starting the game, players are prompted to create an alias and select difficulty settings. All versions, except for the PlayStation 2 and Wii, include online multiplayer modes.
