Puyo Puyo 2 is a puzzle game that follows the story of Arle as she battles against computer enemies in a quest to save her home world from destruction. The game takes place on various levels, each with its own unique obstacles and challenges.
The gameplay involves dropping colored blocks called "Puyos" onto a grid, trying to create combinations of four or more Puyos of the same color. As the Puyos fall, they can form combos which clear them from the screen, while leaving behind special blocks like Nuisance Puyos that must be eliminated by clearing adjacent Puyos.
