About

The Chinook is a selectable helicopter utilized by the Green Army in Army Men Air Attack and its sequels. It is characterized by its high armor capacity and ability to carry heavy objects, making it essential for transport and rescue missions against the Tan Army.
In the 3D aerial combat spin-offs developed and published by The 3DO Company, players navigate plastic toy battlefields from an overhead perspective. Modeled after the real-world Boeing CH-47, this twin-rotor craft debuted in the 1999 PlayStation release Army Men Air Attack. It remained a staple of the sub-series, appearing in the 2000 sequels Army Men Air Attack 2 and Army Men: Air Attack: Blade's Revenge.
To balance its low top speed and wide turning radius, the vehicle utilizes a specialized winch system. This mechanic allows players to interact directly with the interactive plastic environment, lifting artillery, relocating tactical assets, and clearing blockades to alter the battlefield layout. In multiplayer split-screen cooperative and deathmatch modes, its distinct physics offer a strategic alternative to more agile gunships like the Huey or Super Cobra. The vehicle's implementation showcases the franchise's signature blend of authentic military design and whimsical toybox physics, which defined the commercial peak of the brand during the fifth and sixth console generations.
