About

Megalon is a playable giant monster in the trilogy of Godzilla fighting games developed by Pipeworks Software. Representing the Seatopian faction, the character utilizes its drill-like hands to burrow underground and perform surprise attacks. Megalon also employs lightning beams from its horn and explosive spit fireballs to combat other kaiju.
Originating from the 1973 film Godzilla vs. Megalon, the character transitioned to 3D gaming in Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee (2002) as a pawn mind-controlled by the invading Vortaak alien race. In this debut, players utilized the character's unique mobility to navigate destructible cityscapes on the Nintendo GameCube and Xbox.
In the sequel, Godzilla Save the Earth (2000), the character's cooperative synergy with Gigan was emphasized, mirroring their classic cinematic alliance. This game expanded the character's moveset with improved grappling mechanics and energy-transfer abilities, allowing players to siphon power from opponents to replenish their own health.
For the trilogy's conclusion, Godzilla Unleashed (2007), the character was categorized within the Mutant faction on the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 2 platforms. In this entry, the character fought to claim or destroy the mysterious power crystals erupting across the globe. Throughout these three titles, the character maintained a distinct gameplay niche as a tactical brawler capable of bypassing traditional arena obstacles, securing its legacy as a mainstay of the Pipeworks fighting era.
