About

Pigma Dengar is a recurring villain in the Star Fox series, known as a former member of the original Star Fox team who betrayed his allies to Andross. He later joined the rival mercenary group Star Wolf, appearing as an enemy pilot in Star Fox 2 and Star Fox Assault. His character is defined by his extreme greed, disloyalty, and distinctive laugh.
The character's roots in the franchise trace back to the era of the original Star Fox (1993) and its promotional competition cartridge, Star Fox: Super Weekend [Not For Resale] (1993), which established the Super FX chip-powered universe he would inhabit. Though his narrative betrayal predates these events, his active role as an antagonist was solidified in the development of Star Fox 2 [Homebrew] (2017), where he was designed as a member of the rival Star Wolf team, piloting the Wolfen fighter against the player.
In Star Fox Assault [Player's Choice] (2005), his narrative arc takes a dark turn. After being expelled from Star Wolf for his overwhelming avarice, he attempts to profit from stolen Core Memory. This leads to his encounter with the parasitic Aparoids, who infect and assimilate his body and ship, transforming him into a monstrous, biomechanical boss entity known as Pigma Fusion. This evolution highlights his role as a cautionary tale of unchecked greed within the Star Fox series, transitioning from a mercenary pilot to a tragic, mutated threat.
