Reef Entertainment Ltd. is a UK-based video game publisher and distributor established in 2002. The company is known for publishing and distributing various console and PC games, including the Wii version of Sniper Elite and Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle. In 2010, the company was acquired by Sunrise Software.
Initial publishing efforts focused on bringing niche sports and action titles to European audiences. The company secured the rights to
Free Running, a parkour simulation title developed by Rebellion Developments. Reef oversaw the game's initial launch on the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable in 2007, later extending its reach with ports for the Nintendo Wii in 2009 and the PC in 2010.
In 2010, the publisher expanded its catalog with the release of
Sniper Elite for the Nintendo Wii, which included a dedicated physical release packaged as the
Sniper Elite [Gun Bundle]. This special edition bundled the tactical shooter with a custom rifle peripheral to enhance the motion-control gameplay. This was followed in 2012 by the release of
Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle, a spin-off point-and-click adventure game written by Steve Ince and released across multiple platforms, including the PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, and PC. These releases allowed the company to establish a footprint in physical retail distribution during the seventh console generation.
