About

Founded in 2017 by Dennis Mendel and Benedict Braitsch, Strictly Limited Games focuses on preserving digital-only and classic games through physical media. They are known for publishing physical editions of retro titles and modern retro-style games, often partnering with developers like Taito and Factor 5.

The publisher's catalog is characterized by highly curated, numbered print runs that cater to collectors and retro enthusiasts. Among their prominent physical releases are definitive editions of classic shoot 'em ups and action platformers. Notably, the company has produced physical editions for the acclaimed Darius franchise, including Darius Cozmic Collection Arcade (2013), Darius Cozmic Collection Console (2013), and the celebratory Darius [Darius 30th Anniversary Edition] (2017).

In addition to arcade compilations, the publisher specializes in reviving historical 16-bit titles for modern platforms and original legacy hardware. This includes physical preservation efforts for the run-and-gun shooter Mega Turrican (1994) and the challenging action-platformer Jim Power: The Lost Dimension (1993). Beyond retro revivals, the company also produces premium physical packages for contemporary indie titles, such as The King's Bird Special Limited Edition (2013). Each release typically features high-quality packaging, soundtrack CDs, and detailed art books, ensuring that historically significant software remains accessible in tangible formats.
