About

The Alvin and the Chipmunks video game series consists of rhythm-action adaptations of the CGI/live-action films. The series includes the self-titled Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007), Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel (2009), and Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked (2011). Players participate in music-based gameplay, matching prompts to perform songs from the franchise's soundtracks.
Sensory Sweep Studios developed the initial entry, Alvin and the Chipmunks, which was published by Brash Entertainment for the PlayStation 2, Wii, Nintendo DS, and Microsoft Windows. This release features a story mode following the band's journey from local venues to a global "Rockathon" concert, designed to thwart the corporate ambitions of their nemesis, Ian Hawke.
Majesco Entertainment assumed publishing duties for the subsequent installments. Developed by ImaginEngine, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel expanded the roster by introducing the Chipettes—Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor—as playable characters. This sequel, released for the Wii and Nintendo DS, incorporates competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes.
The final entry, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, was developed by Behaviour Interactive. Released for the Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS, it emphasizes physical movement by utilizing the Xbox Kinect and Wii Remote to track player choreography. This title features a story mode set on a deserted island and cruise ship, mirroring the narrative of the third film, and includes customizable outfits for the characters.
