About

The Hotel Transylvania video game series consists of adaptations of the animated film franchise. The series began with the 2012 self-titled game, a side-scrolling platformer developed by WayForward for Nintendo DS and 3DS. It later expanded with Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard in 2018, a strategy-adventure game developed by Torus Games.
Published by GameMill Entertainment, the debut Hotel Transylvania (2012) focuses on Mavis attempting to rescue Jonathan from the hotel while avoiding her father, Dracula. Players utilize Mavis's unique vampire abilities, such as freezing enemies, running on walls, and transforming into a bat to traverse various hazard-filled levels.
For the 2018 release, Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard, Outright Games took over publishing duties, releasing the title across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. This installment shifts the perspective to a top-down view and introduces squad-based mechanics. Stranded on the mysterious Lost Islands, players control either Dracula or Mavis to command small, elemental helpers called Impa. These creatures are directed to traverse obstacles, bridge gaps, and battle hostile native wildlife in a style reminiscent of real-time tactical puzzle games. Both titles emphasize family-friendly gameplay and direct narrative ties to their respective feature films, serving as interactive extensions of the cinematic universe.
