G.P. Tennis Manager is a sports management simulation game where you manage a tennis player, starting with a limited amount of money and a low ranking in the Top 100 list. The goal is to progress from a rookie player to a World No. 1 professional.
The gameplay is divided into two phases: management phase and simulation phase . In the management phase, you select one of five young players from different countries, each with their own set of parameters that affect their performance on the court. You must manage your player's stats, buy equipment, attract sponsors, and make strategic decisions to improve their skills.
In the simulation phase, you can either let the game play out automatically or manually control your player to beat more powerful opponents. The gameplay experience differs between the Commodore 64 and Amiga versions, with the Amiga version featuring first-person views and the C64 version using a top-down scrolling view. The game offers various options to customize your experience, including adjusting the career years, difficulty level, and number of players, as well as access to practice and game modes. You can also load saved games or play in multiplayer mode with up to five players taking turns between the management phase and playing matches on the court.
