As the title implies, Polaris SnoCross is a game based on the sport of snowmobile racing. It has 3 available modes (Single Event, Instant Action, and Tournament) and supports up to 4 players.
The story mode of the game follows a fictional racing championship where players can choose from five different sleds and riders to compete against each other. The player's goal is to win the championship by completing three races in a series of events.
Gameplay involves driving a snowmobile on various tracks, performing tricks and stunts to gain speed and earn points. In Single Event mode, players can choose from five different sleds and riders to compete against each other, while Instant Action randomly selects the sled, track, time of day, and weather conditions for an instant game. The Tournament mode consists of seven events, each with three races, and rewards players who successfully complete each event with a new challenge.
Polaris SnoCross was released on the Nintendo 64 console in December 2000.
