Hamster Heroes is an action game where you control a hamster in a ball as it rolls through various environments, similar to Super Monkey Ball. This game builds upon the concept of Habitrail Hamster Ball by the same developer and features very similar mechanics.
The gameplay revolves around steering your hamster through the air, navigating through small ledges and platforms to reach the exit without falling off. The game offers a large number of levels, each representing a course to complete before unlocking the next one. You can play these courses in either 'normal' mode or 'time attack' mode.
As you progress without interruption, a speed meter builds up, causing your hamster to accelerate faster. The game also supports local multiplayer for up to four players, competing against each other on the same course through split-screen racing.
