The planet of Cybertron is embroiled in an all-out war between the Autobots and the Decepticons. The Autobot's last stand has been dealt a devastating blow as the Decepticons introduce their new army: the Decepticlone.

A distress signal from the Mini-Cons, a third Transformer race thought lost forever, sets off a chain reaction that draws both sides to Earth. With the fate of the universe hanging in the balance, the Autobots must save Earth from the Decepticons' sinister plans.

Players control one of three featured Autobots: Optimus Prime, Hot Shot and Red Alert. Each Autobot can transform into their vehicle mode, complete with classic '80s transforming sound effects.

The player's mission is to find and retrieve Mini-Con robots, which grant the Autobot new abilities or enhance existing ones. These include offensive weapons, defensive measures, and special powers such as Glide Wings and Boost Jumps.

Players will battle their way through a range of environments, from the Amazon jungle to Antarctica and a Pacific island, against uniquely designed Decepticlone enemies.

The game features an array of famous Decepticon bosses, including Starscream, Cyclonus, Tidal Wave, and Megatron.

A classic battle between good and evil unfolds as players take control of the Autobots in this action-packed adventure.

This is a third-person action game where players choose to fight as either Autobots or Decepticons in their war for the AllSpark on Earth. Players will engage in combat, transform between robot and vehicle forms, and utilize various weapons and abilities to achieve victory.



Story

STORY

Long ago, on the distant planet Cybertron, a race of autonomous robotic life forms waged civil war without end. Two factions rose and fought for an artifact of unspeakable power, which gave life to their race: the AllSpark.

The AUTOBOTS, sworn to protect the AllSpark, battled heroically against the treacherous DECEPTICONS, who desired the AllSpark's power only for evil. Their war raged on, and in a final act of self-sacrifice the AUTOBOTS jettisoned the AllSpark into the depths of space, where it would remain hidden for countless years on a remote planet called Earth.

Now, the forces of good and evil gather again to continue their battle for the AllSpark, and the war that began on Cybertron will be finished on Earth. Their war. Our world. Your Choice.

How to Play

GETTING STARTED

Set up your PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system according to the instructions supplied with your system. Check that the system is turned on (the on/standby indicator is green).

Insert the TRANSFORMERS™: THE GAME disc in the system with the label side facing up. Attach game controllers and other peripherals as appropriate.

Follow the on-screen instructions and refer to this manual for information on using the software.

Tips & Maps

Roll

Double-tap the left analog stick in a direction to roll and get out of trouble quickly in combat.

Ground Attack

Press the button after jumping to perform a powerful ground smash that will knock back nearby enemies, useful when you need to attack a group.

Convert to Robot Form / Vehicle Form

Different situations call for different tactics; try switching regularly between Robot and Vehicle modes when in tricky situations.

Regaining Life-force

Picking up life-force sparks will allow you to stay in the battle longer; defeat enemies and smash buildings to find more health pickups.

Climb Buildings

Press the button to jump and grab onto the side of a building, then use the left analog stick to climb to the top and gain a height advantage over your enemies.

Melee Weapons

Some objects in the game can be used as a melee club when picked up; experiment with different objects as some may have unexpected results.

Nitro

Some TRANSFORMERS can use a Nitro boost in Car mode for a powerful speed boost, but be wary as it may be harder to control at high speeds; the Nitro bar on the HUD shows remaining Nitro and replenishes over time.

Challenge Yourself

Around the game world you will find various challenge markers; start collecting to open up new challenges, such as timed races or survival tests.

Blocking

Blocking can help prevent damage when under heavy attack, but some enemies will also block your attacks; try different attacks to break through their defense.

Skills

Performing certain actions in game will start a Skill Tracker Chain; light up all the TRANSFORMERS Symbols to unlock new and exciting extras.
