The Super Aquatic Games was conceived partly as an Olympics tie-in, and partly as a stop-gap for James Pond fans. The game saw Pond and friends competing in the underwater Olympics. The story follows their aquatic adventures as they participate in various events.
The gameplay involves participating in different mini-games, such as sprinting events like the 100 Metre Splash, where players must swim to a target while avoiding obstacles, and more unusual challenges like Kipper Watching, which requires players to deflect incoming beach balls away from sleeping seals. The game also features Gymnastics and can be played with up to 4 players.
