Gauntlet IV is a port of the arcade original, featuring four unique characters each with their own advantages and disadvantages, played by up to 4 players.
The game includes several modes: Arcade, Quest, Battle, and Record. In Quest mode
, the objective is to defeat the four towers and solve the mystery of the ancient castle, with a main hub area allowing players to choose which tower to take on next, buy weapons from merchants, and increase stats.
Gauntlet IV features Battle mode
, where players can fight each other to the death, with maps including teleporters, monsters, items, and exits that exclude participants.
The game also includes Record mode
