Grand Slam Tennis is a tennis game that features venues from all four Grand Slam tournaments; the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. It includes 14 of the top players at the time of release (e.g. Federer, Nadal and the Williams sisters) and 9 retired tennis legends (e.g. Sampras, McEnroe, Navratilova). The game is played with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck and also has full support for Wii MotionPlus where the timing of the swings is measured. Despite the cartoonish character models it aims to be a tennis simulation game with a learning curve, especially when played with the Wii MotionPlus.

The gameplay in Grand Slam Tennis is varied, with several modes to choose from. The main career mode allows players to customize their characters and then compete in each of the four tournaments to win the Grand Slam. Other game modes include Party mode, where players can participate in mini-games for one to four players; Play Now, which enables quick games for up to four players; and Online mode, where players can compete against each other in ranked or unranked matches, with leaderboards displaying player rankings.
