A long time ago, humanity had colonized several planets and formed the Galactic Republic to maintain peace among them. However, tensions rose between the human colonies and other alien races, leading to a devastating war that nearly destroyed the planet Earth.
The story of Star Ocean Till the End of Time takes place 15 years after this war, where humanity has finally recovered and is working to rebuild its society. The player assumes the role of Fayt Leingod, a young pilot who is on a mission to save his girlfriend from being sold into slavery.
The gameplay in Star Ocean Till the End of Time is an action RPG with real-time battles against enemies and bosses. Players can explore various planets, interact with non-playable characters (NPCs), and engage in space battles with their ship, the Phoenix . The game features a unique battle system that combines melee combat with magic spells.
