Baroque , a post-apocalyptic RPG game, sees the world devastated by a heat wave, leaving behind demon-infested ruins and a mysterious "Nerve Tower". You play as an amnesiac survivor who enters the tower in search of clues to your identity and the apocalypse's causes.
The game is played as an RPG dungeon-crawler, where you control your character, clearing each floor from monsters while earning experience and items. Outside the tower, you journey to get weapons and equipment from a few NPCs.
Baroque for the Playstation 2 features additional floors, items, and creatures, with an updated polygonal engine replacing the original's 2D sprites. The game now has a third-person perspective, changing the gameplay to make it more of an action-RPG than the original.
