The story of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II Back from the Sewers is largely unchanged from its predecessor. The main villain, Shredder, and his accomplice Krang, have concocted an evil plan to take over the world and kidnap April O'Neil. Players must guide the four turtles through six side-scrolling levels to rescue her and save the day.
The gameplay of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II Back from the Sewers is more of the same action-packed fun that fans of the series have come to expect. The game features bonus games between levels, which allow players to increase their health meter or rescue captured turtles. These interludes add a welcome break to the fast-paced gameplay.
