Getting Started
•
Make sure the Nintendo® GAME BOY® power switch is OFF.
•
INSERT THE ALIEN 3™ game pak as described in your GAME BOY® instruction manual.
•
Turn the power switch ON.
When you see the ALIEN 3™ logo, press the START BUTTON. After coded transmissions, you will awaken in the infirmary of the Fury 161 work prison. The doors are disabled, but a key card is available somewhere. Find it quickly, as the aliens are growing stronger and hungrier.
Inventory Management
To add an item to your inventory, move the CURSOR ARROW to the item next to "SEE" using the CONTROL PAD, then press the A BUTTON. Your arsenal holds a maximum of 10 items: five weapons and five additional pieces of inventory.
Ammunition for the pulse gun and fuel for the flame thrower are not on the inventory list; they are stored and used automatically. You cannot fire your weapon while reloading. When switching weapons, all ammunition in the previous weapon is forfeited.
To drop an item, move the CURSOR ARROW to the item on the "INVENTORY" panel using the CONTROL PAD, then press the A BUTTON. Weapons cannot be dropped.
To choose items for use, move the CURSOR ARROW to the item in the "INVENTORY" or "WEAPONS" panels using the CONTROL PAD, then press the B BUTTON. The item will appear at the top of the INVENTORY PANEL in the WPN or USE box. You can use one weapon and one additional object while exploring.
Map Controls
To return to normal map magnification, move the cursor to the "OUT" area on the control panel using the CONTROL PAD, then press the A or B BUTTON.
To scan along the map diagram, move the cursor to the arrow on the control panel indicating the desired scroll direction using the CONTROL PAD, then press the A or B BUTTON.
To return to game play, move the cursor to the "EXIT" area on the control panel using the CONTROL PAD, then press the A or B BUTTON.
The Fury 161 Ventilation System
Navigating Fury 161's ventilation shafts is crucial for survival but also extremely dangerous. You could be sucked into giant spinning fan blades.
When you enter a ventilation system, you will see numbered switches on the wall. These switches operate the fans. Depending on your position relative to the blades, fans can either suck you in or blow you along the shaft.
To switch fans on and off, move yourself into a position where you're facing the switch. The switch status will be displayed on the bottom right of your play screen. Press the A BUTTON to toggle the switch.
Ventilation shafts also provide a way to move between different parts of the Fury 161 base. Explore all areas of the ventilation system to find possible exits.
