Phelios , released on the Sega Genesis, is set in the world of Greek mythology. The story follows young prince Apollo as he attempts to rescue his beloved Artemis from the demon Typhon. Artemis was seized while exploring the skies with her winged horse, Pegasus, and was locked in a dungeon within Typhon's temple.

Phelios is an action-packed game where you must defeat Typhon's minions using your sword that can emit fireballs. As you progress through the game, you'll collect items that increase your speed and firepower. Holding down the fire button for a few seconds charges the sword, allowing it to shoot larger, more damaging fireballs.

Phelios ' gameplay consists of seven chapters, each culminating in a boss battle. After defeating each chapter's boss, you can watch an intermission that summarizes what's happening at the temple between each chapter.
