The world of La Gias, situated inside our Earth, is on the brink of destruction. The Holy Kingdom of Langran has ruled over the lands for centuries, but its days are numbered. Seers and scholars predict that the kingdom will fall within 10 years, threatening the very existence of their world. In an effort to prevent this catastrophic event, Langran creates powerful machines called the Masou Kishin, which are controlled by pilots' sheer willpower. However, most people in Langran lack the necessary willpower to control these massive mechanical beings.
The gameplay in Masou Kishin The Lord of Elemental remains relatively the same as previous titles, but it introduces several new features. The graphics are enhanced, with robots represented in actual proportions during battle. The battlefield is now in an isometric position, allowing for more tactical depth. Units attacking from behind deal greater damage than those attacking from the front. Terrain also affects unit stats, providing a notable advantage over enemies.
