The Super Nintendo console was home to an adaptation of the classic board game Monopoly from Sculptured Software, released in September 1992. The game was played by up to eight players or against computer opponents, with customizable starting parameters and preset scenarios available.
Gameplay featured a unique top-down view of the board, where moving tokens were displayed in an animation on the center of the screen. Auctions and trades took place on special screens, with more elaborate animations and illustrations available in the 16-bit versions compared to the 8-bit ones.
