Vortex is a 3D shooter for the Super Nintendo Super FX 1 chip. The game features custom-made graphics accelerator technology similar to Star Fox, but with some unique twists. Players can transform their vehicle into different modes at any time, each with its own strengths and weaknesses.

The story follows a soldier fighting against the Aki-Do Forces, an evil empire threatening the universe. With the help of an experimental mech called the Vortex, players must travel through seven worlds to destroy enemy bases and stop the Aki-Do's sinister plans.
