When visiting Flicky Island, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing finds that the Flickies, his small, feathered friends that can travel between parallel worlds, were captured and turned into badniks by Dr. Robotnik in his never-ending quest for the Chaos Emeralds. Seven levels separate Sonic from the final showdown with Robotnik.
The gameplay of Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing is much faster than other games in the series, and the number of badniks on screen is increased to create a chaotic racing experience. Players control their favorite characters from various Sega franchises as they compete in high-speed racing challenges.
In Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing , players can collect rings and use them to unlock special items and power-ups, such as the "Super Sonic" boost that allows for faster speeds. With seven tracks set on Flicky Island, players must navigate through obstacles and challenges to reach the finish line first.
