Sabre Wulf, released on the GameBoy Advance in 2004, tells the story of Sabreman's quest to retrieve the eight pieces of his shattered amulet. The evil Dr. Dolittle-Goode has broken the seal, and it's up to Sabreman to track down the villains and collect the amulet shards.
The game features two distinct modes of play: 3D exploration and 2D platforming sections. In the 3D mode, Sabreman navigates through eight themed worlds, interacting with non-playable characters who may offer assistance or information. Additionally, more than fifty 2D platforming levels can be accessed through the Wulf's head tunnels.
The 2D levels require players to guide Sabreman through a mix of platforming and puzzle-solving to collect the treasure. Sabreman can jump, but he cannot attack on his own. Instead, he must utilize the abilities of the fifteen creatures in the game, each with their unique powers ranging from offense to mobility boosts.
