The Game Boy Advance version of 007 Nightfire brings the James Bond adventure to the handheld console, sharing the same storyline and gameplay concept as its PC and console counterparts. The player takes on the role of 007, tasked with stopping megalomaniacal industrialist Raphael Drake from achieving world domination.
The game is set in exotic locations such as an Austrian castle, corporate towers in Tokyo, and a South Pacific island, where Bond must navigate through nine objective-based levels. The gameplay involves mixing action and stealth, using a variety of guns including pistols, automatics, and a sniper rifle to defeat enemy goons.
As the game progresses, heavier hardware such as rocket and grenade launchers and explosive charges become available to overcome special adversaries. Q's gadgets also make an appearance, including a wristwatch laser and a cellphone grapple, which are used in specific situations to utilize Bond's spy skills.
The game features a 3D engine with fully polygonal graphics, except for sprite-based enemies, and includes digitized speech.
