Blur is an action-oriented racing game similar to the Mario Kart series, featuring dozens of licensed sports-cars from manufacturers like Audi Quattro, Nissan 350Z, and Shelby GT-500, racing around fantasy and real-world tracks.
Scattered around these tracks are power-ups, including a repair kit, shield, and five different weapons, such as the target-seeking Shunt. Each car is unique in its statistics, making tactical decisions about which one to use for different types of races and tracks.
The core of the game is the single-player campaign, divided into nine groups at 14 real-world locations. The player must make their way to the top, earning lights and unlocking new events and groups. Each event includes a Fan Target and Fan Run, mini-challenges that reward bonus lights and fans for completing them.
The game also offers a multiplayer mode for up to four players on one machine or 20 online, with unlockable car upgrades and mods in online multiplayer. Players advance in rank by winning events, and can choose to enter Legendary mode once they reach level 50, which resets their progress but earns an exclusive Legendary car.
