Disney Universe starts with a virus called Hexx that infects the virtual amusement park, causing chaos. The player must defeat Hexx and restore order to the virtual world.
The game features six worlds based on Disney and Pixar movies, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice, Lion King, Monsters, Inc., Aladdin, and Wall-E. These worlds are divided into three sections, with a character that needs to be rescued at the end of each section. Players must solve puzzles and fight enemies to progress, similar to Travellers Tales games. They also need to collect Mickey Mouse head icons, which serve as currency to unlock worlds and Disney-themed costumes.
