Pimp My Ride is based on the MTV series of the same name, where people modify their cars with upgrades like nitrous, new rims, and tinted windows. This is done both inside and out to make the car look unique. You start by playing as Xzibit, who lends you his car. Your goal is to explore five boroughs called Pimp City, complete mini-games to earn money, buy your own car, and then customize it.
As you customize your ride, Xzibit will guide you through the process. Once your car is pimped out, you can take it for a spin in Pimp City and start earning money by completing races and challenges. The game becomes a free-roaming racer, allowing you to explore and progress through the game.
