Space Quest I: Roger Wilco in the Sarien Encounter is a remake of the original release. The new version has improved graphics (256 color VGA) and sound support. It uses the SCI game engine with a point-and-click interface and icons along the top. This differs from the AGI engine used in the original. Some puzzles have been adjusted to fit the new interface, and players can now skip the arcade part. The game also includes additional scenes and more detailed text descriptions, which enhance the humorous tone.
The story follows Roger Wilco as he attempts to rescue his crewmates from the Sarien Empire. The plot is full of humor and witty one-liners, making for an entertaining experience.
