Joe Montana Football

Gameplay involves controlling your on-screen player as they try to run up the field. Once downed, you'll enter a play selection screen where you choose from 17 preset plays and other options like punting or attempting a field goal. Joe Montana will often give tips on the best play, which default to if not chosen.

On the field, you can throw passes to your receiver, change receivers, or try to run with the quarterback. When playing defense, you have 6 defensive plays to choose from and a turnover option. Two-player mode functions similarly to single-player but with a human opponent instead of the computer.
