Hunter's Trophy 2: America is a hunting game and the third title in the Hunter's Trophy series. The basic gameplay is almost entirely identical to the previous game, the main difference being in the American locations. It contains five environments in the US: Alaska mountains, Alberta forest, Colorado plains, Kentucky marshland, and Wyoming lakes.
The hunting season mode allows each environment to be split up into six hunting plans to discover new animals, unlock new locations, earn new permits, unlock skills, and eventually access ten guns. There are more than 20 types of prey in total, including badgers, brown bears, coyotes, ducks, moose, rabbits, raccoon, wild boars, and wild turkeys.
Gameplay involves tracking animals using a locating looking glass icon in the environment, where the type of animal is identified. The hunter must then follow the scent trail to find the animal. The dog accompanying the hunter can be used to help track and stalk prey. There are three types of dogs in total, each with different behavior, unlocked gradually. Beating is also available as a hunting option. Faster mission types require quick reflexes and accurate shooting.
The game includes a hunting week mode, which allows players to freely explore one of the five environments and combine different hunts in a single session. The game is played from a first-person view and features stabilization when aiming, multiple stances, and a mini-map for navigation.
