You start with 10 goal cards - up to 3 can be played in each match, each giving you a shooting chance. The action sequences involve studying a move plan on the chalkboard, then getting into the right position to execute the final shot. Your performance will determine whether you score enough goals and remain in your place in the team, or gain a transfer up the league.

The better you perform, the higher your wages are, which may lead to a big-money transfer and international call-up. There's also a trivia section, asking increasingly difficult questions that allow you to go double or nothing on knowing the answers - up to £8000 can be won on this.
