Top Gear 2 is a third-person racing game that shares similarities with Gremlin's Lotus series in terms of its overall aesthetic, including the font used throughout the game. The objective is to navigate through 16 countries, each featuring four races, where various real-world circuits have been recreated in unusual locations.
In this game, you'll participate in mini-championships consisting of four-race blocks, where you'll compete against 19 cars and need to finish in the top 10 to progress. The scoring system awards points from 10-6-4-3-2-1, with the top six scoring the most points and corresponding amounts of money. This money can be used to upgrade your car's engine, tires (wet and dry), shocks (front, side, and rear), and gearboxes.
Each race comes with a limited amount of nitro boost, but bonus nitros, money, and instant speed-up tokens appear frequently on the tracks. Hazards such as puddles, barriers, and ramps are also present throughout.
The goal is to win each four-race championship to earn the next password. With careful management of your upgrades and strategic use of nitro boost, you can increase your chances of success in this challenging racing game.
