Immercenary is a 3DO action-adventure game that follows your journey as Immercenary Number Five , tasked with destroying the virtual reality simulation known as Perfect . This simulated world is controlled by an entity named Perfect1 , and it's up to you to shut down the system.

In the game, you start at rank 255 in the Perfect hierarchy and must rise through the ranks to defeat Perfect1 , who holds rank number 1. To achieve this, you'll need to destroy higher-ranked Rithms , which are the entities that make up the simulation. As you progress, you'll encounter unique Rithms high in the hierarchy, and destroying these will grant you access to new areas and ranks.

Throughout your journey, you can collect various weapons and power-ups, as well as recharge offensive and defensive energy at designated energy spires . The center of the Garden, known as DOAsys , serves as a neutral zone where you can interact with other Rithms and receive hints on how to combat special Rithms and locate valuable items.

When you log out of the simulation or are forced out, you'll return to your secret lab, where you can load and save your game, as well as access detailed statistics on your progress in Perfect .
