Cyberia is set in 2027, where the world is controlled by two rival superpowers, the Free World Alliance and the Cartel. The western-bloc spy has discovered a secret laboratory deep within Siberia, known as the Cyberia Complex, where a mysterious weapon is being developed. Zak, a cyber-hacker, is sent to infiltrate the complex to uncover the truth about the Cyberia weapon.

Zak's mission becomes even more complicated when the Cartel also becomes interested in the weapon and sends their forces to stop him. He must navigate through the complex while avoiding the Cartel agents who have taken control, as well as genetically engineered creatures created by the scientists.

Cyberia is an action-adventure game with puzzle sequences and a strong emphasis on scripted events and cutscenes. The gameplay allows limited navigation between locations, which often lead to puzzles or action scenes involving combat, such as shooting down planes or navigating flying vehicles in Star Wars-style confrontations.

Cyberia was released for the 3DO console in 1996.
