Dead or Alive 5: Last Round
The story continues with Dead or Alive 5 , with a series of one-round matches featuring different characters, cut-scenes, and conversations that advance the plot. Players can choose from various modes, including the main game mode.
Dead or Alive 5: Last Round 's gameplay builds upon the DoA formula with 3D arenas and fighting on a 2D plane. Characters can sidestep and knock opponents through danger zones into other parts of the environment. The game features four buttons for punches and kicks, as well as throws, blocking, and advanced moves like counters and critical stun attacks.
The game offers three play styles (casual, pro, and online pro) and four main game modes: story, fight, training, and online. Story mode provides a narrative-driven experience, while training allows players to practice the game mechanics through a 42-step tutorial. Online mode features ranked and lobby matches for multiplayer competition.
The game also includes various submodes like versus, arcade, time attack, survival, and team fight, with options to unlock all characters and stages or participate in exhibition matches. Dead or Alive 5: Last Round boasts 34 playable characters, including returning fighters from Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate , as well as new additions like Raidou and Honoka.
All stages return from Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate , along with two new stages exclusive to the PS4 and Xbox One versions. The game offers over 400 costumes that can be unlocked in-game or purchased through DLC, allowing players to customize their fighters' appearances.
Dead or Alive 5: Last Round was released on September 27, 2012, for the PlayStation 3, with later releases for other platforms. The game features improved balance changes and new characters compared to its predecessor, Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate , which was also released for various consoles.
