You're the pilot of an F-14 assault jet, assigned to the dangerous mission of taking out an enemy bridge at the top of a heavily guarded river in River Raid II . In this game, you'll start on an aircraft carrier, then make your way past enemy forces over the ocean to reach the river. Collecting fuel from refueling jets is crucial, as it will run out once you're in the water.
Once in the river, you'll need to navigate through treacherous channels and destroy the bridge. But that's not all - after destroying the bridge, you'll have to return to the aircraft carrier and land safely. Completing each level gets progressively tougher, with more challenging obstacles ahead.
One new feature in River Raid II is the ability to control your plane's altitude. You can fly high above everything or dive low into the channel to take out enemy tanks and barges. This adds a new layer of strategy to the gameplay, making each mission even more exciting.
River Raid II was released on July 28, 1988, for the Atari 2600 console in the action & adventure genre.
