Jailbreaker is set in a grim totalitarian futuristic society. The story follows Shlla, a red-headed female thief, who is sought by the authorities after one failed robbery attempt. She soon finds herself captured and put in prison, where she discovers a sinister plot that threatens all inmates.
Jailbreaker is primarily an adventure game. The gameplay mainly involves exploring the prison and its surroundings, picking up clues, talking to characters, and gaining information. There are action-based segments, including combat sequences, quick movement situations, and timed events.
The game features real-time 3D graphics played from a first-person perspective. Players can rotate the camera up and down and side-step.
