About

Kim Kaphwan is a playable fighting game character who debuted in the Fatal Fury franchise. Known for his strict adherence to justice and mastery of Taekwondo, he appears in titles such as Fatal Fury 2, Fatal Fury Special, Real Bout Fatal Fury Special, and Fatal Fury Wild Ambition. He fights to reform criminals and promote his martial art.

Designed by SNK, the character's creation stemmed from a collaboration with a Korean distributor, resulting in him being named after a real-world business president. Following the success of the original Fatal Fury (1993) home releases, he made his playable debut in Fatal Fury 2 (1994). This appearance marked one of the earliest positive representations of a Korean protagonist in Japanese fighting games.
