Players control various members of the gang, including Swan, Ajax, and Cleon, as they fight their way back to their home turf of Coney Island. The game, developed by Rockstar Toronto, expands on the film's lore by featuring several prequel missions that detail how the gang was formed and established.

Released across multiple platforms, including the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, The Warriors (2005) received specialized physical editions such as The Warriors [Greatest Hits] (2005), The Warriors [Platinum] (2005), and the rare promotional The Warriors [Not For Resale] (2005). A PlayStation Portable port followed in 2007, and the game was later made available digitally on the PlayStation 4 in 2016.
