Advance Communication Company (ACC) developed several notable titles for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Famicom, including the infamous action-platformer Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. They were also responsible for the Famicom port of Nihon Falcom's action RPG Ys, as well as anime-licensed games like Moeru! Oniisan and Tatsunoko Fighter.
In 1988, the developer released
Cycle Race Roadman, a bicycle racing game for the Famicom that required players to manage stamina across various multi-stage courses. That same year, they programmed the Famicom adaptation of
Ys, which altered certain dungeon layouts, music arrangements, and boss behaviors from the original PC-8801 computer version.
The studio's partnership with publisher Bandai led to the 1988 Japanese release of
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, which subsequently received a North American localization in 1989. This title utilized a dual-character mechanic where players alternated worlds and gameplay styles between the peaceful doctor and his aggressive alter ego.
In 1989, the company expanded its portfolio with
Seirei Gari, a digital novel adventure game based on the shojo manga of the same name. They also developed
Tatsunoko Fighter (alternatively spelled
Tatsu no Ko Fighter), a side-scrolling action game featuring prominent anime characters, alongside their work on
Moeru Oniisan. These releases defined the developer's brief but active period of Famicom production before the studio ceased operations.
