Originally founded under the name Graffiti, the Milan-based studio rebranded as Milestone in 1996. The developer is highly regarded for its licensed motorsport titles, including the official Superbike and MotoGP series. Over the decades, they have established themselves as a prominent creator of realistic motorcycle and automotive racing simulations.
Antonio Farina established the studio in 1994, initially gaining international recognition with the release of the PC arcade racer
Screamer in 1995. This early success pivoted the developer permanently toward specialized racing software. At the turn of the millennium, the studio secured key partnerships with major publishers like Electronic Arts and THQ, leading to the release of critically acclaimed simulation titles such as
Superbike 2000 (2000) and the initial
MotoGP (2000) game, which was quickly followed by
MotoGP (2001) and its
MotoGP [Platinum] (2001) edition.
Expanding its portfolio beyond two-wheeled racing, the company developed
Corvette (2000) and the physics-driven racing simulation
Evolution GT (2000). Over the subsequent decades, the studio transitioned from utilizing proprietary engines to adopting Unreal Engine 4 to power its modern releases. In August 2019, the company was acquired by Koch Media (now known as Plaion), a subsidiary of the Embracer Group, securing its position within the global games industry while maintaining its operational autonomy and focus on high-fidelity racing experiences.
