Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F is a rhythm game starring Hatsune Miku alongside fellow Vocaloids Megurine Luka, Kaito, Meiko, and the Kagamine twins. The story revolves around music producers creating songs with the help of Vocaloid software, while Hatsune Miku performs to these beats.
The gameplay focuses on pressing buttons to the beat of 38 songs created by various music producers. Players earn points by clearing songs and can use these points to buy items for each Vocaloid's DIVA Room or purchase costumes for music videos. The game introduces new mechanics such as "Chance Time" and Technical Zones, which offer more strategy in scoring high. Additionally, the Star notes system allows players to tap into the touchscreen or flick the analogue stick on the PlayStation 3 controller. Players can also experience AR Mode, a live concert mode where they can see Miku perform her routine in augmented reality. The game's Edit Mode has been expanded, enabling players to upload their own music and create music videos with more options.
