Robo Army , released on the Neo Geo AES in December 1991, is an action-packed game where you play as one of two robots tasked with taking down the evil mad scientist's robotic army. The story follows a classic tale of good vs evil, with your robot and its allies fighting to save the city from destruction.

This is an arcade-style sci-fi shooter where players control elite military robots to liberate Neo-Detroit from a rogue robot army. You'll battle through hordes of enemies as one of two powerful robots, Maxima or Captain Rocky, to thwart Hell-Geed's dystopian plans.
Story
Story
Dr. Fronzeed's military robots successfully destroyed evil organizations, and the world was gradually regaining peace.
However, Dr. Fronzeed and his daughter Frontier were suddenly kidnapped and went missing. Several months later, a strange robot army appeared in Neo-Detroit.
The regular army was ineffective, and Neo-Detroit fell into enemy hands within hours. This group, calling themselves "Hell-Geed," massacred citizens and began manufacturing armed robots from extracted brains. Their goal is the "construction of a utopia (ideal land) for robots only."
The United Nations requested the suppression and destruction of the Hell-Geed army by the super-elite unit "64th Air Division Robo Army," led by Robo No. 1's Captain Rocky.
Enemies & Characters
Maxima
Humanoid Robo Army Leon Cruz, 25 years old. His brain was transplanted into a Robo Army unit after suffering severe injuries in the Third World War.
Rocky
Mechanical Robo Army Tom Geed, 30 years old. He is the captain of the Robo Army and has punching power that can break through 30m thick alloy.
Superconducting Buggy
Maxima and Rocky transform into this form by incorporating an energy item called 'Power Metal', becoming an invincible state for a certain period.
Armored Soldier ①
The lowest-ranking robot soldier.
Bike Soldier
Comes at you with a ramming attack on an army bike.
Master Kong
Stage boss. Despite its huge size, it moves quickly and its rocket punch is formidable.
Doc
A guard dog robot whose forte is speed.
Bird
It descends from the sky and attacks with a body blow.
Mecha Ninja
It scratches with sharp claws.
Chameleon Army
Beware of the dissolving liquid it spits out.
Caroid
Stage boss. If you get too close, you'll be eaten and take heavy damage.

A destruction-specialized soldier who throws iron balls from both arms.
How to Play
Game Overview
Operate the robot army "Maxima" and "Rocky." They can power up with items and transform into buggies. Destroy enemy robots, advance through occupied cities, and reach Dr. Hell-Zeid, the enemy boss. The success of the operation depends on your actions.
How to Start the Game
Press the start button on the controller connected to the main unit. On the level setting screen, select the game difficulty with the lever and press the A button to start the game.
Difficulty Modes

Easy Mode (EASY): For beginners
•
Normal Mode (NORMAL): For intermediate players
•
Hard Mode (HARD): For advanced players
•
MVS Mode (MVS): Same settings as the arcade version (Level between Normal and Hard)
2-Player Simultaneous Play
This game can be played by up to 2 players simultaneously. When playing with 2 players, connect 1P and 2P controllers to the main unit and press both start buttons.
Mid-Game Participation
Even during 1-player play, if you press the start button on the other controller, you can join the game mid-way.
Game Over
If you take a certain amount of damage and your life gauge reaches zero, you lose one life. If you lose 3 lives, it's game over.
Continue and Continue Restrictions
When the game is over, a continue count will be displayed. If you press the start button before the count reaches 0, you can continue the game from that stage.
Continues are limited to 3 times for both 1P and 2P. If you exceed this, you cannot join mid-game.
Save & Load
This game allows saving and loading if you use a separately sold “Memory Card.”
Save (Record)
Please insert the “Memory Card” into the main unit beforehand. When the continue count reaches 0, the save selection screen will appear.
Select “YES” with the lever and press the A button to record the game progress data on the card.
Load (Recall)
Turn on the main unit and insert the “Memory Card” before starting the game. Press the start button, and after the level setting, the selection screen will appear.
Select “YES” with the lever and press the A button. If you saved on a boss stage, you can start from that stage; otherwise, you can start the game from the starting point of the recorded stage.

Maxima can absorb cyber balls from items and amplify electromagnetic energy. They can deal great damage with 3 levels of power attacks.
Rocky
Rocky can absorb cyber balls from items and amplify electromagnetic energy. They can deal great damage with 3 levels of power attacks.
Gun Pulsar
Discharges electromagnetic energy from the arm, defeating nearby enemies.
Mega Smash
Fires electromagnetic balls from the abdomen, dealing great damage to all enemies in front.
Mega Destroyer
In addition to the abdomen, electromagnetic balls are also fired from the back, dealing damage to enemies on the screen.
Atomic Burn
Fires high-heat projectiles from the abdomen, dealing great damage to all enemies in front.
Atomic Destroyer
Fires high-heat projectiles into the sky from the abdomen and back, spreading them to deal great damage to enemies on the screen.
